Methods of Poaching
Snare Wire: Cables are tied to trees, and when an animal walks into the trap, it closes around its neck.
Spears and Dogs: A more common method of poaching is by having dogs chase the animals into ambushes and attack the animals with spears.
Trap Nets: Similar to the "Spears and Dogs" technique, poachers, sometimes with the assistance of dogs, drive animals towards nets, which they then get trapped in and get speared.
Pit Falls: Poachers dig pits in the path of the animals, and then either chase the animals into it, or make the animals chase them towards the pit. The animals that are tapped using this method are usually elephants, buffaloes and zebras, and then are killed for very small parts of their body to sell to dealers.
Arrows and Bones: Normally made of local forest products and are sometimes tipped with poison.
